MANILA, Philippines — Police on Thursday seized P11.9 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from a 26-year-old man following a buy-bust operation in Quiapo, Manila.
In a report, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said approximately 1,750 grams of shabu contained in a large plastic bag was confiscated from suspect Salahudin Baumal, alias “Kulot,” along Quezon Boulevard in Barangay 391.
The drug sting was conducted by operatives of Manila Police District’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit, the NCRPO noted.
Aside from the illegal substance, police said they also seized a weighing scale, a bundle of plastic sachets, a bag, and 35 pieces of P1,000-bill from the arrested suspect.
The NCRPO said Baumal and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Barbosa Police Station for proper documentation pending the filing of a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
