Pagasa: 2nd highest heat index in March recorded in Catarman, Northern Samar

The heat index in Catarman, Northern Samar reached 46°C at 1 pm on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

MANILA, Philippines — The heat index in Catarman, Northern Samar reached 46°C at 1 pm on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The heat index is within the “danger” category, which ranges from 42°C to 51°C.

It was the second-highest heat index recorded from March 1 to 30.

The hottest heat index in the period was at 47°C, reported at San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, on March 25 and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, on March 24.
