Pagasa: Fair, warm Thursday weather with possible rain showers

MANILA, Philippines — It will be another warm day on Thursday in most parts of the country with possible  thunderstorms and isolate rain showers particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao, according to the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its early morning update forecast, said hot weather with a possibility of cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms will prevail in the country in the next few days.

“Sa kasalukuyan patuloy pa ring umiiral itong easterlies o yung mainit at maalinsangang hanging nagmumula sa karagatang Pasipiko dito sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said.

(The easterlies or the hot and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean continue to affect the eastern parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.)

“Dito sa Metro Manila at nalalabing parte ng ating bansa ay magiging bahagyang maulap lamang ang kalangitan na may tsansa pa rin ng pag-ulan pagkidlat at pagkulog na dadalhin ng localized thunderstorms,” he added.

(In Metro Manila and the rest of our country, there will be partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain, lightning, and thunder due to localized thunderstorms.)

The Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa said, should expect more thunderstorms due to the activation of the inter tropical convergence zone or the collision of winds from the northern and southern hemispheres.

No low-pressure area was spotted in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.

No gale warning was likewise raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
