Wanted man accused of 5 counts of rape falls in Laguna
MANILA, Philippines — A 51-year-old man wanted for five counts of rape and six counts of sexual assault has been arrested in Laguna, the police said Tuesday.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the man as Reynaldo Salvador – a wanted person hiding in the province for almost eight years. It also said that its operatives and members of the Libmanan Municipal Police and Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office collared Salvador on Monday, March 27, at Sitio Yambo, Barangay Lorenzo in San Pablo town.
Salvador’s arrest was authorized by a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 29 of the Municipality of Libmanan in Camarines Sur province. The arrest warrant has set no bail for the five counts of rape and P120,000 for each count of sexual assault, authorities said.
According to the NCRPO, Salvador was a former executive officer of Barangay Mabini in Camarines Sur and allegedly repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted his stepdaughter while cohabiting with his live-in partner in 2015.
Following his arrest in Laguna, Salvador was temporarily detained at the NCRPO detention facility in Taguig City.
