Marcos leads groundbreaking of 4th Disiplina Village in Valenzuela City

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday led the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth housing resettlement project dubbed “Disiplina Village” in Valenzuela City.

During the event, Marcos said the upcoming Arkong Bato Disiplina Village will provide 1,200 housing units for informal settlers living along the Tullahan River and Manila Bay.

“Ang pang-apat na Disiplina Village na itatatag natin ay malapit sa mga paaralan, pagamutan, at iba pang kapaki-pakinabang na mga pasilidad para sa ating mga mamamayan,” he said in his speech.

(The fourth Disiplina Village that we will build will be near schools, clinics and other facilities that would benefit its residents.)

He urged the local government and the beneficiaries of the city’s local housing project to keep their homes in order to ensure peace in the community.

“Tiyakin natin na ang mga maninirahan dito ay magkakaroon ng sapat na oportunidad upang makapag-hanapbuhay at magkaroon ng pagkakakitaan gamit ang kanilang mga talento at kasanayan,” the President said.

(Let’s make sure that the residents of this housing project would have enough opportunities to have their livelihoods.)

Marcos said the Valenzuela City government should partner with other government agencies and the private sector to complete the housing project and ensure that the buildings will be strong and of good quality.

He added that the government is still studying how it can identify and use public land to build housing projects.

“Patuloy nating pinag-aaralan kung paano isasagawa ang pagtukoy at paggamit sa mga bakanteng lupa ng gobyerno na maaaring tayuan ng mga pabahay, ayon sa ating mga batas at alituntunin,” the President said.

(We continue to study how we can identify vacant lots of the government that we can use for housing projects, which will be aligned with our rules and laws.)

The housing project in Valenzuela City will be developed on a total land area of 20,709 square meters and will consist of 20 five-story medium-rise buildings with 1,200 housing units.
