MANILA, Philippines — The gun ban for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections has been extended for another two weeks or until November 29, 2023.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) released on Monday the revised calendar of activities for the October 30 elections, setting the gun ban from August 28 to November 29.
The gun ban was previously slated from August 28 to November 14 only.
The filing of certificates of candidacy was likewise moved to August from July after Senator Francis Tolentino called for its postponement to avoid “burdening” local government units.
As of last week, the Comelec already printed 91 million ballots for the elections.
