Pagasa: Fair, warm Friday with isolated rain showers
MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather is expected nationwide on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said that the easterlies and the ridge of a high pressure area are expected to bring hot and humid weather to Luzon, with isolated rain showers expected in some areas.
“Ang easterlies and the ridge of high pressure area ay madadala din po ng mainit at maalinsangan na tanghali,” Estareja said.
(The easterlies and the ridge of a high pressure area will cause a hot and humid at mid-day.)
“Dahil sa high pressure area, asahan ang maaliwalas na panahon sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera [Administrative] Region and Cagayan Valley. Dito po sa Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, kabilang na ang Metro Manila, asahan naman ang epekto ng easterlies ito po ay magdadala ng ulan as early as this morning,” he added.
(Due to the high pressure area, fair weather is expected in northern Luzon, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley. In Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon including Metro Manila, expect the effect of easterlies which would bring rains as early as this morning.)
Estareja said there is a high chance of rain in most parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to easterlies.
“May epekto pa din po ng easterlies, umaga pa lang mataas na ang tiyansa ng pag-ulan dito sa Eastern Visayas. Sa ibang parte ng Visayas, sa Aklan, Capiz and silangang parte ng Iloilo, may tiyansa din po ng pulo-pulong pag-ulan at sa ibang lugar pa ay mayroong isolated thunderstorms,” he said.
(The easterlies will still have an effect as early as this morning. There is a high chance of rain in Eastern Visayas, while in other parts of Visayas — in Aklan, Capiz, and eastern parts of Iloilo — there is still a chance of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms as well as in other areas.)
“Sa ating kababayan po sa Mindanao mataas din ang tiyansa ng mga pag-ulan as early as this morning sa Dinagat and Surigao del Norte, epekto po yan ng easterlies. For the rest of Visayas, partly cloudy to cloudy skies tayo sa umaga at tanghali, pagsapit ng tanghali asahan din ang mainit na temperature,” he added.
(In Mindanao, there is also a high chance of rain as early as this morning in Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte due to the effect of the easterlies. For the rest of Visayas, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be experienced in the morning and noon, but it will be hotter in the afternoon.)
Pagasa did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.
