Sorsogon gov takes oath as new chair of peace and order council for Bicol

SORSOGON CITY—Jose Edwin “Boboy” Hamor, governor of Sorsogon, was sworn in as the new chairman of the regional peace and order council (RPOC) of Bicol on Wednesday, March 22, in Casiguran town in Sorsogon.

The Hamor took his oath at Recidencia Del Hamor in Barangay (village) Inlagadian at a ceremony after he was appointed to head the Bicol council, a press release issued Thursday, March 23, said.

The appointment was made public days ago by the Presidential Communications Office under the Office of the President.

The appointment expressed trust in the first-term governor of Sorsogon, and the national government departments, offices, and agencies working in the region are to cooperate with the council’s agenda in accordance with national government policy.

Hamor, the press release said, commits to carrying out his responsibilities properly and following the mandates of the RPOC.

With his expertise, the Sorsogon provincial office said in a statement that his appointment is a step in the right direction toward bringing about long-term peace and stability in the Bicol region. Tristan Nicole Ayo, constributor
