Cebuano coach to join AFC seminar

Little Azkals head coach Oliver “Bingbing” Colina is leaving for Germany today for the continuation of his coach education under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Project Future Coaches for batch 2009.

The course, which will cover the coach participants’ club attachment, will run from April 13 to 19 in Hennef, Germany.

Colina is the only Cebuano chosen for the project, whose objective is for the long-term development of coaches.

Colina is already a B licensed coach after passing the AFC “B” coaching certificate course last November in Kuala Lumpur.

The AFC is shouldering the travel expenses of all the coach participants while the German Football Association will provide for the board and lodging at the Hennes-Weisweiler-Academy in Hennef Germany.

From Germany, Colina will proceed to Palermo, Italy to meet the Little Azkals for various friendly tournaments.

Colina left the Little Azkals, who are now on their second week of training camp at the Don Bosco Boys Home in Liloan, with Eleazar Toledo, Elezier Fabroada, and Noel Marcaida.

The team will be leaving for Italy next week.

Last Monday, the Little Azkals routed the Central Visayas team of coach Joselito Bono, 8-0, in one of their friendly matches.
