MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday named retired Court of Appeals associate justice Monina Arevalo-Zenarosa as the new commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights.
“Itinalaga bilang Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Commissioner ngayong araw si dating Associate Justice ng Court of Appeals, Atty. Monina Arevalo-Zenarosa,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced on Twitter.
Arevalo-Zenarosa took an oath before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
“Sa kanyang malawak na karanasan sa larangan ng batas at pangangalaga sa karapatang pantao, magiging responsable si CHR Commissioner Zenarosa sa pagpapatupad ng mga karapatan ng lahat ng Pilipino, partikular na ng mga marhinalisado,” the PCO said.
(With her comprehensive experience and her expertise of the law, CHR Commissioner Zenarosa will be responsible with the enforcement of the rights of the Filipinos, especially the marginalized.)
