Authorities burn P700,000 worth of fully grown marijuana plants in Benguet

An estimated P700,000 worth of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) has been burned in three plantations in Kibungan, Benguet.

MANILA, Philippines — An estimated P700,000 worth of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) has been burned in three plantations in Kibungan, Benguet.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) Cordillera said that operatives in a communal forest discovered on Monday, March 20, approximately 3,500 pieces of FGMP in a 1,700-square meter land area in Sitio Langey at Pakpak in Barangay Tacadang.

Almost immediately, the anti-drug agents burned the FGMP.

No marijuana grower was apprehended.

“The said operation was successful with the joint forces of Bakun Metropolitan Police Service, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and the Kibungan and Benguet Probationary Police Officers,” PCADG said. – Kimberly D. Albaño, trainee
