Four more surrender; almost all Degamo attackers in custody — Remulla

MANILA, Philippines — Almost all team members who attacked and killed Negros Oriental Roel Degamo have been accounted for, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said Tuesday.

Remulla gave the statement following the surrender of four more individuals, which he called “main players” in the attack.

“There have been four extra surrenders in the Degamo case and we have almost all the people who are part of the team that attacked Gov. Degamo and almost all of them in custody,” Remulla told reporters.

“They surrendered through the military,” Remulla said, adding that an active military man facilitated the surrender of the suspects.

He said the four have yet to give their initial statements.

“Wala pa. May debriefing na sila (No initial statements yet. They already had a debriefing) but it’s for purposes of military intelligence. But we will be getting it [referring to statements],” he said.

Remulla said they are looking for two or three more persons “really involved in the plan” to kill Degamo.
