MANILA, Philippines — The majority, or 93 percent, of adult Filipinos are hopeful that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country is over, a Social Weather Station (SWS) survey showed.
According to the SWS on Monday, the non-commissioned survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews from December 10 to 14, with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide.
It showed that 93 percent of Filipinos believe the worst is over, while six percent said the worst is yet to come.
The percentage is slightly higher than recorded from September to October 2022, at 91 percent, and is the highest since the pandemic started in March 2020.
Still worried to catch COVID
Meanwhile, the same survey also showed that most Filipinos, or 78 percent, worry about getting infected with the virus.
Fifty-nine percent said they were worried a great deal, 18 percent were somewhat concerned, nine percent were a little worried, and 13 percent not worried.
As of March 19, the country has a total COVID-19 caseload of 4,078,994, with 9,290 still active cases, 4,003,432 recoveries and 66,272 deaths.
