MANILA, Philippines — Warmer weather conditions, cloudy skies and isolated rain showers are expected nationwide on Saturday due to the easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The state weather bureau said the weakening northeast monsoon or “amihan” and easterlies will bring warmer temperatures with cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms to most parts of the countyry.
“Sa ngayon ay patuloy ang paghina ng northeast monsoon or hanging amihan na nakakaapekto na lamang ng extreme northern Luzon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo.
(Currently, the amihan is weakening, affecting only extreme Northern Luzon.)
“Patuloy na rin lumalapit yung easterlies o yung mainit at maalinsangan hangin nagdadala ng maulap na kalangitan […] at nagpapadalas ng mga localized thunderstorms sa Visayas at Mindanao at maging sa southern Luzon area,” he added.
(Meanwhile, easterlies or the hot and humid air that brings cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms continues to approach parts of the Visayas, Mindanao, and Southern Luzon.)
Del Mundo said there is no low-pressure area in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.
He added that no gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
