UST dominates March 2023 Physician Licensure Examination

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 51, or 83.61 percent, of the 61 examinees from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) passed the March 2023 Physicians Licensure Examination, making it the top performing school, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

In a statement on Thursday, PRC said 1,573 of the 2,887 test takers passed the exam given by the Board of Medicine – consisting of its chairman Dr. Godofreda Dalmacion and its members Dr. Eleanor Almoro, Dr. Zenaida Antonio, Dr. Martha Nucum, Dr. Efren Laxamana and Dr. Joanna Remo – across Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

The exam results of one person, however, was withheld due to pending validation of their submitted documents.

Aira Cassandra Castro from the Mariano Marcos State University in Batac topped the exam after earning a score of 89 percent.

Next to Castro, the following people scored the highest in the exam:

The successful examinees were instructed to register for their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration online on April 20, April 24 to 28, May 2 to 5, and May 8.

PRC said it will announce later on the date and venue for the oath taking ceremony of the aspiring physicians who passed the March exam.
