Village councilor shot and wounded in Cotabato City

MANILA, Philippines—Two gunmen shot and wounded a village councilor in Maguindanao on Wednesday, police said.

Mohidin Salvador Lauban was on his way home on board a motorcycle when he was shot at around 7:30 a.m. by the unidentified suspects in Penafrancia subdivision in Cotabato City, reports reaching Camp Crame said Thursday.

Lauban was still able to drive home despite the gunshot wound he sustained, police said. He was swiftly brought to the Notre Dame Hospital.
