LPA to bring rain to parts of Mindanao on Tuesday, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) located east of Mindanao is forecast to bring rain over several parts of Mindanao on Tuesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The LPA was last spotted 530 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur, said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel Villamil, and continues to have low chances of developing into a storm.
“Dahil sa patuloy na epekto nitong LPA at inaasahang paglapit sa kapuluan, makakaranas tayo ng mauulap na kalangitan na may mga kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat sa bahagi ng Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao at Zamboanga Peninsula,” said Villamil.
(Due to the continued impact of this LPA and its expected approach to the archipelago, we will experience cloudy skies with scattered showers, thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula.)
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao, as well as the entire Visayas will experience generally fair weather with chances of rain due to isolated thunderstorms especially in the afternoon and evening.
On the other hand, generally fair weather is also forecast to prevail over Luzon, with only chances of light rain in the afternoon and evening.
Due to the influence of the northeast monsoon, a gale warning is currently raised in the seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and the Northern Coast of Cagayan.
Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Tuesday would be:
- Metro Manila: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 13 to 22 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 20 to 29 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay: 21 to 28 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
