MANILA Philippines — A firefighter was injured in the blaze that hit the warehouse of a plastic factory in Quezon City on Monday.
In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that Fire Officer 1 Jaymark Mapuyan sustained first- and second-degree burns. He got injured while trying to put out the fire.
Authorities also said that the fire damaged P70 million worth of property as it ravaged a one-story warehouse at 20 P. Dela Cruz St. Sitio Gitna, Barnagay Nagkaisang Nayon. It likewise damaged two adjacent structures.
According to the BFP, the fire started at the ceiling of the warehouse at 12:05 a.m. and reached the first alarm at 12:10 a.m. Ten minutes later, the blaze was on the second alarm and escalated to the third alarm by 12:31 a.m. At 12:57 a.m., it reached the fourth alarm and was under control six hours later or at 6:41 a.m.
Firefighters finally extinguished the fire 12 hours after it broke out or at 12:10 p.m.
