No MRT-3 rides this Holy Week: Annual maintenance set to suspend services April 6-9

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Monday announced that operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be suspended from April 6 to April 9 in observance of Holy Week.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Monday announced that Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) operations would be suspended from April 6 to April 9 in observance of Holy Week.

According to the DOTr in an advisory, normal operations will resume Monday, April 10.

“MRT-3 operations will be suspended from Holy Thursday, April 6, until Easter Sunday, April 9, to give way for the rail line’s annual Holy Week maintenance activities,” the DOTr said.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that it would suspend its LRT-2 operations during the same period.

Every year Catholic Filipinos celebrate Holy Week, locally known as Semana Santa, starting Palm Sunday on April 2, until Easter Sunday on April 9.
