MANILA, Philippines — Several domestic flights were canceled on Monday, March 13, due to inclement weather caused by the northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area (LPA), the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.
In an advisory from the MIAA, the following flights were called off:
Cebu Pacific (5J)
5J 196 Manila-Cauayan
5J 197 Cauayan -Manila
5J 781 Manila-Ozamiz
5J 782 Ozamiz -Manila
On Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the northeast monsoon, or “hanging amihan,” and the LPA would bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
The state weather bureau noted that the LPA was last spotted 630 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. — Mae Anne F. Bilolo, intern
