Murder suspect arrested 29 years later as millionaire

LUCENA CITY – Four suspected big-time drug traffickers were arrested on Saturday and Sunday (March 11 and 12) in buy-bust operations in Rizal and Cavite and yielded over P1.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth), police said.

Kaharodin Bayan was collared at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday by anti-narcotics operatives in Bacoor City, Cavite after he sold P100,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Molino 4, the Police Region 4A said in a report.

Authorities seized two plastic sachets of shabu weighing 100 grams and with an estimated value of P680,000.

In Rodriguez, Rizal, police busted Mark Arnibal, Christian Cano and Charlene Añes in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Seized from the suspects were 18 sachets and two knot-tied plastics containing shabu weighing 180 grams with an estimated value of P1,224,000, a digital weighing scale and drug-using items.

Likewise confiscated from the trio were a  .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, eight bullets and two motorcycles believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

All suspects are under police custody and will face a formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The three suspects from Rizal will also face a complaint for illegal possession of a firearm.
