/ 11:54 PM April 09, 2012

Burglars who took advantage of the Holy Week exodus to the provinces ransacked a mall stall and an unattended apartment in Manila of more than P600,000 worth of valuables, including passports, clothes and assorted merchandise.

Debbie Ines, owner of a stall at Divisoria Mall, and Veronica Garcia, a tenant of EMMS Building along Agoncillo Street in Malate, reported their losses to police over the weekend.

The break-in at Ines’ stall could have happened between 6:30 p.m. of April 4 and 8:30 a.m. the following day when the store owner reopened her stall and found her wares missing.

Apart from taking assorted jewelry and electronic gadgets, the burglars took Garcia’s passport and another travel document belonging to a Roger Torres.
