MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President on Friday said it provided aid for victims of successive earthquakes in Davao de Oro towns.
According to the OVP, it distributed 424 and 628 boxes containing relief items to residents of the Municipality of Maragusan and in New Bataan town, respectively. Each “Relief Box” has mosquito nets, hygiene and dental kits, slippers, masks, and disinfectant alcohol, according to a Facebook post of Vice President Sara Durterte.
The series of earthquakes that rocked Davao de Oro province in the last two days sent at least 362 families out of their homes, according to the provincial disaster risk and management office.

Earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.9 and 5.6, came only three hours from each other on Tuesday, March 7, according to Phivolcs.

On Monday, March 6, a 4.9 magnitude quake that struck New Bataan at 12:49 a.m., followed by another tremor of magnitude 5.3 in the said town at 4:43 a.m. on Monday. —Vance Chan, trainee
