MANILA, Philippines — The integrated digital legislative management system dubbed as e-Congress will promote synergy between the Senate and the House of Representatives, according to Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

Romualdez made the message during Thursday’s launch of the digital platform attended by senators and representatives.

He pointed out that the platform will be instrumental in raising the quality of public service, particularly in lawmaking, representation and oversight functions of the legislative branch of government.

“To carry out this crucial role, it is imperative that both houses of Congress exercise constant collaboration, coordination, and sharing of information towards people-centered legislative governance,” Romualdez said in a message read by delivered by former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who is also the House Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Representative.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri also said the platform “will lead to the more efficient passage of laws” since it will strengthen the coordination between both chambers of Congress.

For Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, the platform will “ensure alignment of national strategy.”

“As more data is shared and secured, it can be synthesized into useful information for decision-making,’’ Legarda also said.
