LUCENA CITY — Four children were stabbed to death Thursday, March 9, by the live-in partner of their overseas working mother, who committed suicide after his mass killing in Trece Martirez City, Cavite.
Trece Martirez police, in a report on its Facebook page Thursday afternoon, said the victims were three girls, aged 14, 12 and 9, and a boy, 5.
The report said the police found the blood-soaked bodies of the victims inside their house in Barangay Cabuco. The report did not state the time of the discovery.
The police also found the suspect, identified in the report as alias “Felimon,” dying on the floor with a kitchen knife stuck to his chest. He died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The police claimed that the suspect committed suicide after he killed the four young victims.
The investigators found the suspect’s message written in blood and addressed to the mother of the victims asking for forgiveness, the report said.
The police will subject the body of the suspect to an autopsy to determine if he was under the influence of liquor or illegal drugs during the commission of the crime.
Investigators eyed “jealousy” as the possible motive behind the shooting but did not provide further information.
According to the police, the suspect was the one taking care of the children while their mother worked abroad. The report did not specify the country where she is and the nature of her work.
The police are conducting further investigation.
