VP Duterte launches entrepreneurship program for women, LGBTQIA+ in Laguna
MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte has launched an entrepreneurship program in Laguna that aims to financially support women and LGBTQIA+ members.
Duterte led the “Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day” launching on Wednesday in celebration of International Women’s Day.
According to the Vice President, the program will focus on marginalized sectors such as women, single parents, persons with disabilities, survivors of violence, women of indigenous tribes, displaced overseas Filipino workers, the LGBTQIA+ community and the unemployed.
She said the program also supports the national goal of the Marcos administration to guarantee equal playing conditions for all market participants.
“The role of our local government units in facilitating a business-friendly environment and encouraging the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises is critical to accelerate our post-pandemic recovery,” Duterte said.

By increasing the daily income, Duterte said it successfully empowered its beneficiaries and fostered their economic independence.
The project was adopted by the Office of the Vice President to be implemented across the country.
After Davao City, San Pedro, Laguna is the first city in the nation to receive the entrepreneurial program.
“Habang ang Office of the Vice President ay naghahanda sa paglunsad ng programang ito sa buong bansa, masaya ako na ang LGU ng San Pedro, Laguna ay magiging pangunahing katuwang natin sa pagbibigay pag-asa sa mga kakabaihan at mga myembro ng LGBTQI na magkaroon ng sariling negosyo o dagdag na kapital upang palaguin ang kanilang kabuhayan,” Duterte added.
