Newly renovated bigger port soon to serve travelers in Masbate
MASBATE CITY — Local officials led the inauguration on Wednesday, March 8, of the newly renovated and now bigger port worth P142 million in this city in Masbate province.
Lawyer Oliver Rodolfo, Philippine Ports Authority Port Management Office of Masbate (POM) acting port manager, said in his welcome speech at the event that “this is a very important building that will allow us to serve the Masbateños and the traveling public in the best way possible.”
Rodolfo did not say when the port would be operated for the public.
From a maximum capacity of 100, the newly renovated Masbate Port Operations Building can now accommodate 542 passengers.
It has a two-story building with a free-wifi zone on the ground level, a nursing area, a prayer room, a charging space, and all-gender restrooms, while the workspace for the POM division is on the second floor.
