MANILA, Philippines—Fifteen independent short films on human rights will be screened at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon city, on Thursday starting 7 p.m. to enhance the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) human rights consciousness, spokesman Police Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz said.

“This activity will be a great avenue for our personnel to recognize the observance of human rights as they perform police operations and day-to-day duty,” PNP chief Director General Raul Bacalzo said.

“Kinse,” featuring the 15 short films, delves on issues of justice, domestic violence, extra judicial killings, children’s and women’s rights and indigenous rights, among others. Viewers of the films will include top officials from the PNP, Commission on Human Rights, Department of National Defense and the ambassador of the Netherlands to the Philippines, Cruz said.

Deputy Director General Nicanor Bartolome and AFP chief of staff General Eduardo Oban Jr. will be hosting the event, Cruz added.
