Magnitude 5.3 earthquake rocks Davao de Oro
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.3 earthquake rocked Davao De Oro on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tectonic earthquake struck at 4:43 a.m., with its epicenter traced some 22 kilometers southeast of New Bataan town, Phivolcs reported.
Aftershocks and infrastructure damage are expected, Phivolcs added.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in New Bataan, Maco, and Mawab, Davao De Oro; Intensity III in Nabunturan, Davao De Oro; Intensity II in Laak, Davao De Oro, Intensity I in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur; Instrumental Intensity IV in Nabunturan, Davao De Oro and Intensity II in Davao City, Davao Del Sur
