1 dead, 1 hurt in Batangas City shooting

LUCENA CITY — A construction worker was killed early Sunday, March 5, while a bystander was wounded by a stray bullet in a shooting incident in Batangas City.
Amid Guno, 49, was standing in front of his house in Barangay (village) Wawa at around 1:50 a.m. when he was repeatedly shot by a still unidentified male assailant using a handgun, hitting him in different parts of the body, the Batangas police said in a report.

Bystander Ricky Perez, 23, was also hit by a stray bullet on his left leg. The gunman fled after the shooting.

The two victims were taken to Batangas Medical Center but Guno died on the way.
The police are now conducting further investigation to unmask the gunman and establish the motive behind the killing.
