DUMAGUETE CITY — Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo demanded justice for her husband, Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and five others killed about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, during a brazen attack inside their home in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
“Governor Degamo does not deserve that kind of death. He was serving his constituents on a Saturday, along with his department heads,” the mayor said.
“Tinud-on jud unta sa national gov’t ang pag pangita, pag paningil sa hustisya sa akong bana. Akong hangyo give the governor the justice he deserves (I hope the national government will be serious in seeking, pursuing justice for my husband. My appeal is give my husband the justice he deserves),” she added.
Mayor Degamo said she hoped people would help them give justice for the slain governor.
The mayor announced the death of her husband at 11:41 a.m., about three hours after unidentified men in full battle gear barged into their house in Barangay Isidro, where the governor was distributing assistance to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
