Telco CEO takes oath as special envoy to China for trade, investments, tourism
MANILA, Philippines — Cherry Mobile chief executive officer Maynard Ngu has taken his oath of office on Friday as the special envoy to China for trade, investment, and tourism.
According to a post by Radio Television Malacañang, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. administered the oath of Ngu at the Malacañan Palace.
Ngu is the CEO of Cosmic Technologies Incorporated, the company behind cellphone giant Cherry Mobile.
“As Special Envoy for Trade, Investment, and Tourism, Maynard Ngu is responsible for promoting international trade and investment between the Philippines and China,” RTVM’s post read.
“He will also initiate discussions with stakeholders in the business to maximize substantial trade and other economic opportunities,” it added.
