MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said that he is open for a reelection in 2025.
At the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday, dela Rosa was asked if he is open to seek another term as senator.
Dela Rosa replied: “Yeah.”
He was further pressed about his platforms to encourage people to vote for him.
The senator said that he will stick to his advocacy of fighting drugs and criminality.
“‘Yung strength ko is nandito sa law and order, people voted me for that.
(My strength is in law and order, people voted me for that. They did not vote for me because I’m excellent in science and agriculture.)
Dela Rosa said that he will not pretend to advocate for other things just to entice people.
Kung may alam ako, konti lang,” he said.
(I should not brag, “I will enhance the country’s economy.” I do not know anything about that. If I know something, just a little bit.)
(If I say, “I will improve the country’s health system.” I am not a doctor. What do I know about health? All I know in health is buying medicines.)
Dela Rosa was the former Philippine National Police chief prior to joining the Senate in 2019.
