“May her life inspire us, and her ‘Little Way’ teach us that we too can attain holiness by doing ordinary things with love. With love we put a divine stamp in everything we do, even the littlest thing – for God is love,” he added.

The prelate expressed hopes that the visit of the pilgrim relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus “re-enkindle in our hearts the desire for holiness to which we are all called.”

St. Therese of the Child Jesus, also known as Thérèse of Lisieux, was born Marie Françoise-Thérèse Martin on Jan. 2, 1873 and died on Sept. 30, 1897.

She is described as a highly influential model of sanctity for Catholics and for others because of the simplicity and practicality of her approach to spiritual life.

In 1888, at the age of 15, she became a Carmelite nun and died at the age of 24.
