LUCENA CITY – Four alleged “high-value” targets in the government’s war against illegal drugs and two street pushers were arrested and yielded P352,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in Rizal and Quezon provinces on Tuesday, Feb. 28, reports on Wednesday, March 1 said.

In Rodriguez, Rizal, suspects Carl Lorenz Gonzales, Dexter Jimenez, Dennis Cruz and Embran Makuyag, were collared by police at around 3 p.m. in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Burgos.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects 14 sachets of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P238,000.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

Meanwhile, policemen in Tiaong town in Quezon province busted Caesar Prado and Nelson Amurao in separate drug sting operations, also on Tuesday.

Police Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said the anti-illegal drugs operatives seized a total of P114,800 worth of shabu from the suspects, both identified pushers on the police watchlist.

Authorities are investigating the source of the illegal drugs.

All suspects were detained and faced complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
