MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) registered 832 new COVID-19 infections from Feb. 20 to 26, which is lower than the previous week’s 895 new cases.
Based on the DOH’s latest weekly COVID-19 bulletin, these infections translated to a daily average of 119 cases, which is seven percent lower than the 128 daily average recorded from Feb. 13 to 19.
None of the infections were tagged as critical or severe, bringing down active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions to 370 from the previous week’s 406.
Meanwhile, 78 deaths were added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll during this week, which is currently at 66,108 as of Feb. 27, based on the DOH’s online COVID-19 tracker.
Only two deaths, however, were recorded in the last two weeks — Feb. 13 to 25 — with the rest being backlogs recorded as early as August 2020.
The utilization of ICU beds also slightly decreased from 14.9 to 13.5 percent, while non-ICU bed utilization rate decreased from 18.9 to 17.9 percent.
In terms of vaccination, a total of 73,885,830 individuals have been fully vaccinated with the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines, with 11,872 individuals newly-vaccinated.
A total of 21,537,492, meanwhile, have received their booster shots.
Based on DOH’s online tracker, the country’s total COVID-19 caseload is currently at 4,076,237, as of Feb. 27, with 4,000,837 recoveries and 9,292 active cases.
