MANILA, Philippines — The House committee on appropriations has passed the proposal that aims to institutionalize the government’s transition to e-governance.

Panel chair Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co said Sunday that the approval of House Bill No. 3 or the E-governance Act, a priority of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is an important milestone in modernizing the systems and processes in the government.

The proposed measure seeks to promote the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in transforming government processes, operations, and service delivery into more citizen-centric, interconnected, and transparent governance. It also includes the establishment of the Philippine Infostructure Management Corporation (PIMC) to enhance the delivery of government services through interoperability and maximization of resources.
