Fire engulfs houses, structures in Bacolod City
BACOLOD CITY — A fire destroyed two houses and damaged three other structures at Punta Magsungay, Purok 6, Barangay Singcang here on Thursday night.
City Social Welfare Officer Sally Abelarde on Friday, Feb. 24, said the fire affected five families with about 20 members who have been assisted by the city government and provided with food packs.
The fire victims are staying at homes of relatives and friends, she said.
The fire started from an unattended candle at the house of Dennis Louie Herrera, said Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod chief.
Damage was pegged at P15,000.
