Village watchman stabbed after chasing holdup suspect in Naga City

A village watchman was injured after he was stabbed by a robbery suspect in Naga City

LEGAZPI CITY — A village watchman was injured after he was stabbed by a robbery suspect in Naga City, Camarines Sur late Thursday, February. 23.

Naga City police spokesperson Sr. Master Sgt. Tobias Bongon identified the victim as Noel Ravanilla, 55, a resident of Barangay (village) Mabolo.

An initial investigation said Ravanilla was stabbed by Janel Delloro, 26, when he was about to arrest him at the riverside in Barangay Dinaga at 8:15 p.m.

Bongon said the victim just helped another village watchman chase the suspect.

Ravanilla sustained injuries to his right shoulder and was brought to a hospital for medical attention.

The suspect fled and hid in the river, but was later arrested by the responding police.

He is now under the custody of the police for proper disposition. INQ
