The country’s daily COVID-19 caseload has stayed below 100 for two straight days, according to the Department of Health (DOH). Latest figures from the COVID-19 tracker, 86 fresh infections were recorded on Wednesday, slightly up from 82 new cases recorded the previous day. These positive cases, however, were only those confirmed through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests whose results are reflected in the official tally. Self-administered COVID test kits, which are cheaper and more accessible, are not included in the DOH count. Active cases, the majority of which have mild symptoms, stood at 9,203.
