CIDG arrests 4 most wanted persons in Western Visayas

Four most wanted persons (MWPs) in Western Visayas have been arrested, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced on Thursday.

MANILA, Philippines – Four most wanted persons (MWPs) in Western Visayas have been arrested, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced on Thursday.

The suspects were apprehended during a string of manhunt operations conducted by the CIDG – Western Visayas, joined by the local authorities, on Feb. 21.

The suspects were identified as Jobito “Kubeng” Cantire, Jonel Talondata, and brothers Herberto and Marlon Anzures.

Cantire was listed as a municipal MWP, while Talondata and the Anzures brothers were regional MWPs.

Cantire faces the crime of frustrated murder, and Talondata was nabbed by virtue of a warrant  of arrest (WOA) for two counts of rape under Article 266A.

Meanwhile, the Anzures brothers were collared on the strength of a WOA for murder.

All suspects are currently being held at their respective CIDG arresting units before their transfer to the court of origin.

“The CIDG will continue to uphold and enforce the law against criminals and ensure that our anti-criminality campaigns will be intensified and implemented in order to make our communities safe,” CIDG Director Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr. said in a statement. – Kimberly D.
