MANILA, Philippines — Four most wanted persons (MWPs) have been arrested in Calabarzon, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced on Thursday.
The suspects were arrested during a series of operations conducted by the CIDG-Calabarzon, joined by other law enforcement units on Feb. 21.
According to the report, the suspects were identified as Jeyboy Basilio, Ariel Suico, Al Francis Bogtong, and Bryan Vergara.
Basilio, Suico, and Bogtong were all listed as the region’s MWPs, while Vergara was a provincial MWP.
Basilio faces four counts of rape charges. Suico, meanwhile, was apprehended under an arrest warrant for illegal recruitment.
Bogtong faces two counts of lascivious conduct and rape by sexual assault while Vergara was arrested for carjacking.
The suspects were brought to their respective CIDG units for documentation and proper disposition.
“The arrest of these wanted individuals is also a victory for our community. Patuloy tayong magka-isa sa pagsugpo sa mga kriminal na nagpipilit na magtago sa batas para sa pagpapanatili ng ating komunidad na ligtas at payapa,” Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr. said in a statement.
