Manila Water’s Aglipay STP achieves 1M safe man-hours
Manila Water’s Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project team, its contractor, the consortium of Megawide Construction Corporation and Suez International, and 300 workers celebrate onsite the milestone of achieving 1 million safe man-hours without lost time incident. The P4.18-billion Aglipay STP is part of the Mandaluyong West Sewerage System project. It will have a treatment capacity of 60 million liters per day (MLD), expandable to 120 MLD of wastewater to be collected from 2,115 hectares of catchment area spanning Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Quezon Cities. The Mandaluyong West Sewerage System is designed to serve a population of around 720,000 by 2037.
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Water, together with its contractor and consultant, Megawide Construction Corporation and Suez International, recently celebrated one million safe man-hours without lost time in the construction of the Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Barangay Old Zaniga, Mandaluyong City.

According to Manila Water Senior Project Manager for Aglipay STP Michaelangelo Cubelo, this milestone is a testament to Manila Water’s commitment to upholding safety in all its construction and operational functions.
“This achievement proves that as an employer, Manila Water pursues a strong sense of discipline among all our partners and prioritizes safety as our number one concern,” Cubelo shared in his message during the simple recognition ceremony held recently at the construction site.
Megawide Construction Manager Eleazar Sanchez thanked his colleagues from partner Suez Philippines and their 300 strong tradesmen and laborers as he received the plaque of appreciation for this significant achievement in the project.
