DFA: Consular office in General Santos City closed on Feb. 27

MANILA, Philippines – Services in the consular office in General Santos City will be suspended on Monday, February 27, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Tuesday.

The suspension is in accordance with the declaration by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of February 27 as a special non-working day in the city to mark the celebration of its 84th Founding Anniversary and the 34th Kalilangan Festival.

The DFA in an advisory said its consular office in General Santos City will reopen on Tuesday, February 28.

In Marcos’ Proclamation No. 157 issued Monday, February 13, he said it was “but fitting and proper that the people of the City of General Santos be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.”
