P136,000 shabu seized from 5 Bicol drug suspects

LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested five suspected drug personalities and recovered shabu worth P136,000 (crystal meth) in separate anti-illegal drug operations on Monday, Feb. 20, in Camarines Sur and Albay provinces.

Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said in a report that Sherwin Guevarra and Kenny Abiog were arrested around 8:30 p.m. in Barangay Manguiring in Calabanga town.

Authorities recovered a medium-sized sachet of shabu and a wallet with 13 more sachets from the suspects, who were on the illegal drugs watch list.

Ten grams of shabu worth P68,000 were recovered during the operation.

In Albay, three drug personalities were arrested at 11:35 a.m. in a search on an alleged drug den in Barangay Dap-Dap in this city.

Lieutenant Kharren Formales, Albay police spokesperson, identified the suspects as Ariel Delos Santos, Evelyn and Kimberly, both surnamed Orosco.

Formales said Delos Santos was the main subject of the operation.

Authorities also recovered 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000.

The suspects face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
