MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 cases fell to an average 128 cases daily, mostly nonserious, while hospital admissions remained at safe levels.
From Feb. 13 to Feb. 19, the Department of Health (DOH) said 128 people tested positive for the virus every day on the average, 19 percent less than the 157 average daily cases the previous week.
Of the 895 new COVID-19 cases reported last week, three were severe or in critical condition.
Official data showed that 9,182 people were still infected with the virus, of which 3,513 or 38 percent were being treated in hospitals. This included 406 patients who are severely or critically ill.
Meanwhile, the official death toll rose to 66,021 as the DOH confirmed 74 more deaths due to COVID-19.
Healthcare utilization rate remains low, with 14.9 percent of COVID-19 intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 18.8 percent of non-ICU beds in use. There are now 73.8 million fully vaccinated Filipinos.
