Metro Manila’s COVID-19 positivity rate slightly up to 1.7% — OCTA
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila slightly rose from 1.6 to 1.7 percent, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David on Monday.
“NCR (National Capital Region) Positivity rate had a negligible increase in 7-day positivity rate, from 1.6% (Feb. 11, 2023) to 1.7% (Feb. 18, 2023),” David said in a social media post.

“The positivity rates in NCR and other major provinces remained low at less than 5%,” he added.
Article continues after this advertisementWhile all regions remain low, several other areas, apart from Metro Manila, recorded an increase in their positivity rate, including Cebu, which rose from 0.8 to 1.4 percent; Davao del Sur, 2.8 to 3.8 percent; and Iloilo, 0.5 to 1 percent.
Based on the Department of Health’s online COVID-19 tracker, active cases are currently at 9,182, after recording 142 fresh infections on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 caseload is at 4,075,524, with 4,000,321 recoveries and 66,021 deaths.
