MANILA, Philippines — Malabon City residents were treated with some skin pampering on Monday as Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda led a medical mission that provided derma consultations, warts removal, and minor surgery for cysts.
In a Facebook post, Legarda said 365 Malabon City residents have pre-registered to avail of the derma services but more are expected to come as they opened the on-site registration at 8 a.m.
Legarda said the medical mission was held in partnership with a private dermatology firm and the Malabon City government.
Also, the senator said wheelchairs and maintenance medicines and vitamins from the Department of Health, and chocolate milk were also available during the activity.
She also said that the Senate Medical and Dental Bureau will be assisting with general health concerns.
Simultaneously, Legarda will help in the distribution of the payout from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations.
According to her social media post, 330 beneficiaries will receive P3,000 each from the DSWD’s program.— MJ Soriano, trainee
