DOJ indicts 10 for pharma exec’s kidnap-slay
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has indicted 10 persons for the kidnapping and murder of Eduardo Tolosa Jr., president and chief executive officer of Iraseth Pharma Inc., in Batangas last year. Named respondents were Carlo Cadampog, Cesar Cadampog, Adrian Joseph Mendez, Richmel Riel Ignilan, Jomel Vizcarra and Aldrin Antonio/Norman Antonio. Respondents John Benedict Dumalanta and Victor Ferrer were tagged as accomplices, while David Gundran Jr. and Melvin Andes were named as accessories to the crime. The DOJ said a criminal complaint will be filed at the Sto. Tomas, Batangas Regional Trial Court. According to the DOJ, on July 19, Tolosa was allegedly abducted and murdered by respondents led by Carlo Cadampog. Ransom was demanded for his release but after handing over money, a Rolex watch and a Hublot watch, Tolosa was still killed. Tolosa’s body was buried in a pit dug by respondents Dumalanta, Andes and Ferrer, the DOJ added. —TINA G. SANTOS
