MANILA, Philippines —Manila City Government and Pinoy Lego User Group (PinoyLUG) have come together to celebrate National Art Month and commemorate the 50th anniversary of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo through the launch of “Project AMORsolo: Lego Bricks Mosaic Arts Exhibition.”

Mayor Honey Lacuna spearheaded the creative event.

Creativity and art are taking a Lego turn as PinoyLUG recently unveiled their unique project, Project AMORsolo.

According to its website, this project transposes three grand works of Fernando Amorsolo into remarkable Lego brick mosaic art, a feat that has never been seen before.

“The exhibit is part of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Amorsolo’s proclamation as the first National Artist of the Philippines in Visual Arts,” it said.

According to the official page of Lacuna, the exhibit will run throughout February.

Under Presidential Proclamation 683, National Art Month is observed every February “to celebrate artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture.”
